MARS - LIVE AT IRVING PLAZA - NO WAVE - OUT OF PRINT

MARS - Live At Irving Plaza ()

Edition of 500 Includes Digital Download and Insert OUT OF PRINT! Itunes!        The second volume of live Mars recordings from Feeding Tube. This one was recorded at the band’s penultimate show, August 4 1978, with spectral help from Rudolph Grey on the side-long take of “NN End”. The quartet is at the full height of their power here, manipulating the language of tongue explosions both instrumentally and vocally.       Recorded by Brian Eno, the sound is an advance from the galacto-fidelity of the Artists Space LP, and the performance is a staggering example of Mars in their final phase. This is a stunning example of the No Wave impulse in its most experimental and personal guise.       The package… Read more »

MARS - LIVE AT ARTISTS SPACE - NO WAVE - OUT OF PRINT

MARS - Live At Artists Space ()

Mars “Live At Artists Space” LP Edition of 500 OUT OF PRINT!   ITUNES! In May of 1978 there was a five night music festival at Artists Space on Hudson Street in Tribeca. Although almost no one cared at the time, the event has since entered the halls of legend, as one of the signal events in the history of the No Wave era – one that managed to include both the Lower East Side bands and those fronted by their Western contemporaries. On the final night of the festival the two bands playing were Mars and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. What we are presenting to you today are both sets by Mars – the most mysterious, and bizarrely-styled… Read more »

Belltonesuicide - Cartilage Evaporator

Belltonesuicide - Cartilage Evaporator ()

LP Edition of 100 Mike Barrett has been making uncompromisingly bleak noise music in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts for over a decade. Until now, his releases have come out in ultra-limited, hand assembled runs. Well, I guess nothing has changed really, except for the CD-Rs and cassettes of the past have been replaced with this beautiful slab of vinyl. Each of the one 100 covers was painted by hand, either by Barrett himself or his associate Chris Blair. The music on this LP is all previously unreleased material recorded in the last few years, with the help of Blair and Brett Robinson. The world of Belltone Suicide is dark and feedback drenched and is sure to appeal convicts,… Read more »

Kommissar Hjuler and Mama Baer

Kommissar Hjuler and Mama Baer - Amerikanische Poesie und Alkoholismus ()

180 Gram LP Edition of 500 Officer Hjuler of the Flensburg police, and his wife Frau Baer are two of contempo sound poetry’s most prolific propagandists. They have released a huge pile of artist records on their own label, and have also had releases on Ultra Eczema, Blossoming Noise, Blackest Rainbow, Gold Soundz and elsewhere. This is their first American LP, and pairs an earsplitting lecture on sound poetry on the A side and a paean to the state of American Alcoholism. One of the most amazing and consistent releases in their discography, this is a splendid place for anyone to dip their toes into the pair’s idea of sonic construction. An incredible document. “Amerikanische Poesie… is the duo at… Read more »

M2 - At Land's Edge

M2 - At Land’s Edge ( / )

LP Edition of 300 BANDCAMP! M2 is an East Coast-based duo comprised of two of the legendary Miller brothers, namely Roger and Ben. They have previously appeared together in such bizarrely protean ensembles as Sproton Layer and Destroy All Monsters, but they are probably best known for their work in autonomous formulations. Ben, most recently with the Glenn Branca Ensemble, Roger with Mission of Burma (and all who sail with them). The music on M2’s debut LP, however, is far from any of the rock-related moves with which they’ve associated in the past. Both have serious bonafides in experimental/improvised sound, of course, but these take a new leap with At Land’s Edge. Roger is playing heavily prepared piano – something… Read more »

Body/Gate/Head - Glaring Luring Yo - OUT OF PRINT

Body/Gate/Head - Glare Luring Yo ( / )

Body/Gate/Head  “Glare Luring Yo” LP Edition of 300 OUT OF PRINT! BANDCAMP! In the spring of 2011, Michael “Powderfinger” Morley was in the U.S. for a short visit. There had been some talk of doing a Gate show or two, but when he visited Western Mass, we decided to put use to his collaborative talents. He played one night at the Yod space in Florence with Kim Gordon and Bill Nace, then at Feeding Tube with Spencer Yeh and Meg Clixby. Both sets provided jumbo pleasure, and Michael managed to record the Yod set for our presentation to you. Kim and Bill were at the beginning of their duo explorations at this point. Can’t even remember if they’d started using… Read more »

Orchid Spangiafora - Flee Pasts Ape Elf - OUT OF PRINT

Orchid Spangiafora - Flee Past’s Ape Elf ()

Edition of 700 with 2nd record of material not on original 1979 release. OUT OF PRINT! Splendid, expanded reissue of this monster album, which most people know from its placement on the NWW List. Stapleton even went so far as to name a track (“Fashioned to a Device Behind a Tree”) after a mis-hearing of one of Flee Past’s’ many memorable lines. The music has its roots in Hampshire College’s Electronic Music Studio in the early 1970s. While taking a class on Electronic Composition, Robert Carey was smitten by the potentialities lurking inside piles of reel-to-reel tape. Presented with a stack of such stuff, mostly recorded off of television, he began an epic stumble into the universe of musique concret…. Read more »

Gary Wilson - Lisa Wants To Talk To You - Out Of Print

Gary Wilson - Lisa Wants To Talk To You ()

Gary Wilson “Lisa Wants TO Talk To You” LP Edition of 500 OUT OF PRINT! Vinyl actualization of a Gary Wilson originally released as a CD in 2008. The second of Feeding Tube’s Wilson retrievals (following last year’s Forgotten Lovers), we consider this the most solid of Gary’s post-revival albums. While it goes in a slightly different musical direction than the deranged porn-lounge inventions of You Think You Really Know Me (the classic ’77 LP, heisted in toto by Beck during his Odelay phase), the naif-ache of the lyrics and the music’s laid-back bowling-alley-funk-thrust reveal unending vistas of pure pleasure. Wilson’s vision and performance approach are absolutely personal and shockingly naked. Like other true outsider artists (from the Shaggs to… Read more »

Nals Goring, No Sound - Watership Down / Gay KK ()

LP Edition of 100. Numbered. Out Of Print! Zach Phillips, a Souther Vermonter with an intricate and idiosyncratic world of private melodic symbology. His Horse Boys project has produced two playful and mysterious piano tapes and a repertoire of lovely songs. Nals Goring, finds him taking a microscopic scalpel to numerous cassettes in a fever dream of fairy tale hallucinations. NO SOUND is Ted Lee. Recored Live to GAY KK film at Pleasant St. Movie Theater in Northampton, MA on 4.1.09.
